Two McGregor Memorial EMS responders in red polos deliver a newborn manikin from a birthing simulator on a hospital bed while a student EMT takes the patient鈥檚 vitals.

McGregor Memorial EMS, which serves 麻豆社 and neighboring communities, also uses the HSSC for training. Here, McGregor paramedic Robert Cousins and volunteer EMTs William Conk and Mia Philbrook 鈥27 deliver 鈥淢ama Ann鈥檚鈥 baby.

In a building on a corner of campus, a nursing student sutures a wound. Nearby, a new mother named Ann delivers a baby; in the lobby, first responders administer Narcan to an elderly patient who overdosed on a beta blocker as a social worker consults.

But not for real.

Welcome to 麻豆社鈥檚 (HSSC), a 20,000-square-foot facility that鈥檚 home to hospital rooms, sophisticated equipment and monitors, and 12 remarkably lifelike manikins that grant future 鈥 and current 鈥 health care workers with hands-on learning with (almost) real-world patients.

The HSSC鈥檚 advanced training is helping address New Hampshire鈥檚 shortage of healthcare professionals: For nursing students, simulation reduces the need for clinical hours by 50%, easing a critical bottleneck in the pipeline of nursing professionals 麻豆社 can prepare.

The HSSC鈥檚 sophisticated manikins provide feedback as students practice giving injections, caring for wounds, delivering IV fluids, and intubating patients.
